Pashmina Studio is a company that specializes in two main services: sample making and weaving. They have a dedicated team of craftsmen who are experts in designing samples for clients, and they use the finest pashmina to weave a wide range of products.

  1. Sample Making

  • At Pashmina Studio, sample development is an integral part of their factory.
  • We have a dedicated craftsman for designing samples for clients.
  • Once we receive the first requirement, we follow up with the client to make sure we are on the same page.
  • We have expert knowledge for new designers and established brands alike, and our sample-making service is known as a reliable resource within the cashmere industry.
  • We provide high-quality workmanship and exceptional service in an ever-growing creative industry.
  • After we develop a sample, we send photographs of the sample products to the customers in a sensitive stage.
  • Then we ship ready samples to our clients.
  • Sampling costs are typically 2 times the cost of manufacturing cost.
  1. Weaving

  • Pashmina Studio, and Nepal in general, is famous for its finest high mountain cashmere, which is renowned as one of the world’s best.
  • We use the finest pashmina(Cashmere) to weave shawls, scarves, warmers, blankets, and various other products.
  • Our shawls are hand-loomed to preserve the softness that would otherwise deteriorate on an automatic high-vibrating power loom.
  • Handloom requires uniformity and utmost precision.
  • Then we massage the woven products to release the stiffness, before quality-checking them under the highest international standards.
  • We have mastered different weaving techniques.
a) Simple Loom Weaving
  • A loom is a device used to weave fabric.
  • The basic purpose of any loom is to hold the warp threads under tension to facilitate the interweaving of the weft threads.
  • We use a simple hand-loom to make plain, twill, and check pattern products.
  • The wide range of products we make using this machine includes scarves, stoles, narrow shawls, shawls, stoles, blankets, suit fabric, and shirt fabric.
b) Ikat Weaving
  • Ikat, or ikkat, is a dyeing technique used to pattern textiles that employ resist dyeing on the yarns prior to dyeing and weaving the fabric.
  • In ikat, the resist is formed by binding individual yarns or bundles of yarns with a tight wrapping applied in the desired pattern.
  • The yarns are then dyed.
  • The bindings may then be altered to create a new pattern and the yarns dyed again with another color.
  • This process may be repeated multiple times to produce elaborate, multi-colored patterns.
  • When the dyeing is finished all the bindings are removed and the yarns are woven into cloth.
  • In other resist-dyeing techniques such as tie-dye and batik, the resist is applied to the woven cloth, whereas in ikat the resist is applied to the yarns before they are woven into cloth.
  • Because the surface design is created in the yarns rather than on the finished cloth, in ikat both fabric faces are patterned.
  • Our Ikat Shawls are loved by many customers.
c) Jacquard Weaving

The Jacquard machine is a device fitted to a loom that simplifies the process of manufacturing textiles with complex patterns.

  • It was invented by Joseph Marie Jacquard in 1804.
  • The loom is controlled by a “chain of cards”, which are a number of punched cards laced together into a continuous sequence.
  • Multiple rows of holes are punched on each card, with one complete card corresponding to one row of the design.
  • At Pashmina Studio, they coordinate closely with their master weaver and pattern maker to fulfill clients’ requirements.

4. Dyeing

At Pashmina Studio we offer dyeing services for cashmere products.

  • We use high-quality dyes that are safe for the environment and skin-friendly.
  • The dyeing process is done with great care and precision to ensure that the color is even and consistent throughout the entire product.
  • We have a wide range of colors to choose from, and can also match specific colors as per the customer’s request either from Pantone or swatches that client provides.
  • We have expert technicians who have years of experience in dyeing cashmere products.
  • We use advanced dyeing colors which ensure the perfect dyeing and no color fading.
  • We have strict quality control measures in place to ensure that the final product meets the highest standards.
  • We also offer custom dyeing services for clients who have specific requirements for their products.

4. Printing

a) Digital Printing

b) Screen Printing

a) Digital Printing
  • Pashmina Studio offers roll-to-roll water-based digital printing as one of its services for cashmere products.
  • This method of printing uses digital technology and water-based inks to print designs, logos, and patterns on cashmere fabrics.
  • It allows for precise and accurate printing, with a high level of color consistency and vibrancy.
  • It is suitable for small to medium runs and offers more flexibility in terms of design and colors.
  • It is an eco-friendly printing method that is safe for both the environment and the skin.
  • The roll-to-roll method allows for efficient and quick printing of large quantities of cashmere products such as scarves, shawls, and clothing.
b) Screen Printing
  • Pashmina Studio also offers traditional screen printing for cashmere products, which is a cost-effective option for bulk production.
  • The designs are created by blocking off areas of the screen where ink is not desired, and the ink is applied to the cashmere fabric through the stencil.
  • It is mainly used for printing on cashmere fabrics such as scarves, shawls, and clothing.
