Minimum order and what to expect
Exact minimums can vary with product type, yarn, construction and customisation, and are confirmed in writing at quotation. These figures describe our standard terms, not a guarantee for every product.
Quality and craftsmanship
Each piece passes through more than forty hand processes on its way from yarn to finished product: dyeing, weaving or knitting, washing, pressing, fringe twisting and hand mending. Our workforce is made up primarily of skilled women knitters and menders.
Weaving runs on handlooms from 20 to 250 cm wide, with dobby for checks and stripes and jacquard for intricate patterns. Knitting is hand-flat and machine, from 1.5 to 14 gauge.
Certifications such as OEKO-TEX Standard 100, RWS and SFA sit with the spinners we buy yarn from, not with Pashmina Studio. Ask and we will send the certificate for your specific yarn. How to compare cashmere quality →
Private label and custom development
Bring a design, a reference garment, a Pantone reference or just an idea. We confirm feasibility, construction and minimum, make a development sample, and correct it until you sign off one sealed piece.

- Share your requirement: product, quantity per style and colour, and delivery date.
- We confirm specifications, minimum and feasibility.
- Review sampling: a reference piece from our range, or a development sample.
- Approve the sample and the commercial terms in writing.
- Confirm production with a 50% advance.
- Production runs with the agreed quality checks against your sealed sample.
- Balance before dispatch; we handle Nepal export customs and documentation.
- Plan the repeat order from the recorded specification.

For a new style delivered by sea, five to six months before you need the goods is a comfortable start. Timings depend on the product, materials and approvals, and are confirmed when the order is placed.
Where the cashmere comes from
We are transparent about this because many suppliers are not. Most raw cashmere fibre in the world comes from goats in Inner Mongolia, Mongolia and the wider high-altitude region. Nepal’s strength is not raw fibre volume; it is what happens to the yarn here: dyeing, hand weaving, knitting, finishing and mending by skilled hands, in small runs.

Questions buyers ask first
What is your minimum order quantity?
Our standard minimum is 50 pieces per style and colour. The exact figure can vary with product type, yarn, construction and customisation and is confirmed in writing at quotation. Smaller projects are reviewed individually through the custom quantity form.
Can I mix colours and styles in one order?
Yes. Each colour of each style is its own line, and each line starts at 50 pieces. Two styles in two colours each is a 200-piece order.
Can you work from my design, tech pack or a reference sample?
Yes. Send a tech pack, sketch, reference garment or photograph. We write or check the technical sheet, then make a development sample for your approval.
How much does sampling cost?
Sampling is charged at twice the unit cost, paid 100% in advance. It is deducted from the bulk order under the agreed terms once production goes ahead. For pieces close to our existing range, a reference sample is quicker.
How long does production take?
About 45–60 working days from confirmed order, advance payment and approved sample. A development sample adds about 30–45 days before that.
Do you offer private label and custom packaging?
Yes: your woven label, care label, hang tag and packaging. Artwork needs to arrive early because labels have their own lead time. See private label.
What about import duty?
Duty depends on your country, the product’s classification, its fibre content and current origin rules. We do not quote a single rate. Our importing guide explains what decides it and links to official sources.
