Cashmere Wedding & Event Gifts
A cashmere shawl is one of the few wedding gifts that survives the wedding. It gets worn, and it gets kept — which is more than can be said for most favours. This page covers what to order, how many, and how far ahead to start.

Destination weddings
Cashmere earns its place at altitude and in air conditioning. A ceremony in the hills, an evening reception outdoors, a marquee after sunset, a long flight home — all of them are colder than the brochure suggests, and a stole that lives in a handbag solves it.
Practically: featherlight stoles at 72–95 g are the right specification for a destination event. They weigh almost nothing in a welcome bag, they do not crease badly, and they survive being folded into a suitcase for the return journey.
Matching your palette
Colour is usually the whole brief for a wedding. We match to a Pantone reference, to a physical swatch you send — a ribbon, a fabric sample, a flower — or to a shade from our in-house card.
Two things worth knowing before you commit:
- Approve colour on a physical piece, in the light the event will actually be held in. A shade that photographs beautifully in daylight can read differently under marquee lighting.
- Order the full quantity in one dye lot. Dyeing natural fibre carries slight variation between runs. For a wedding, where the pieces sit side by side in photographs, that matters more than it does in retail.

Monograms, labels and packaging
- Woven or printed labels — the most reliable way to carry a date, a monogram or two names. Discreet, and it survives washing.
- Embroidery — suits initials or a short date. Fine detail and small type fill in on a lofty fibre, so keep the mark simple.
- Packaging — developed with you rather than picked from a list. Tell us whether the gift is handed over, placed on a seat, or shipped to guests afterwards; those are three different packages.

Plan the calendar backwards
This is where most wedding orders come unstuck. Working back from the date:

A May wedding wants a conversation in November or December. If your date is fixed and closer than that, say so in the first email — we will tell you plainly whether it is achievable rather than discovering it together in week six. Sometimes the answer is a ready-made style in a stock shade, which is considerably faster than a custom colourway.
Beyond weddings
